Frankie, a five-week-old Pit Bull puppy, faced heartbreak and confusion for the first time when his family abandoned him.
Left in a Pampers diaper box and dumped on a property in Buffalo, New York, the little pup peered out with longing eyes, hoping for a kind-hearted human to rescue him.
The Puppy Gets Help
Local business owner Robin was shocked to find the sweet puppy, later named Frankie, outside her store.
Compassionate and determined, she picked him up and promised to get him the help he needed. Frankie, sensing her kindness, felt a glimmer of hope.
Robin, a dedicated supporter of West Side Cat Rescue in Buffalo, reached out to the shelter.
Jamie Mulligan, the founder, answered the call and quickly agreed to take Frankie in, refusing to surrender him to an already overcrowded shelter.

“Unfortunately, the local shelters here are full of pit bulls that no one wants to adopt, so Jamie knew she couldn’t bring him to an overcrowded shelter,” a representative from West Side Cat Rescue explained to The Dodo.
Frankie quickly won the hearts of the rescue staff. All he wanted was to be held and loved.

Frankie Finds True Love
Jamie’s daughter, a frequent volunteer at the rescue, decided to foster Frankie. His life transformed as his foster mom showered him with love and affection.
Over time, Frankie formed a strong bond with her.

When Jamie’s daughter mentioned wanting to change the puppy’s name, it was clear she had fallen in love with him. She decided to name him Percy.
“It’s now looking like [Jamie’s] daughter has become attached. Percy is now a foster fail,” the representative noted.

In the arms of his forever mom, Percy felt safe and adored. His once sad puppy eyes now sparkled with joy, knowing he had finally found his happily ever after.
