A woman came across a dog lying on the side of the roadway. He had not been moving and she thought he had actually died. She began to cry but as she sobbed, the canine’s paw moved.
She looked closer and could see that his chest was rising and falling– but barely. The poor dog was hardly breathing.
The abandoned pup was having a hard time, at death’s door. The woman called a buddy for help. She prayed her friend would come in time. The woman’s buddy volunteers at a neighboring shelter. He would recognize what to do! When he got there and saw the canine, he was taken aback. The dog was so weak that he couldn’t also wake up.
The man and his buddy used a sheet, like a gurney, to transport the dog to their vehicle. They then raced over to the veterinarian clinic. The vet and his team went to work immediately. They were very worried about the canine who still struggled to wake up. His blood work revealed why. He was extremely anemic from malnourishment. He was likewise dried out and in the early stages of hypothermia.
The vet gave him IV liquids first and then made arrangements for a blood transfusion. They had to obtain his hemoglobin up or he would not make it through. Within a few days, the dog made tremendous progress. He wasn’t also able to sit up and currently he was standing, eager to consume a real meal!
This poor boy had not seen real food for so long. He ate everything and then desired more! The vet is so pleased that the dog, that was near fatality, is now on the path to a complete healing.
