Debbie Allen was driving down I-94 to satisfy a client when she saw something on the road. A dog was limping across the street attempting to get away from the oncoming traffic.
Debbie instinctively recognized she was placed in this circumstance to help the poor dog, so she instantly pulled over and jumped onto the freeway and started following the dog.
” I saw a dog in the middle of the roadway and it was certainly limping so I recognized it had been hit,” Debbie told WXYZ. When the dog got near a center divider panel and sat down for a moment to catch his breath, Debbie took a seat beside him to try and reassure him that everything was going to be okay.
Quickly, Michigan Humane showed up to pick up the dog. They named him Marco, but found that he was not microchipped, and nobody has come forward to claim him yet. Their suspicion is that he escaped his yard and ran onto the freeway and couldn’t find his back. Marco has actually been kept under clinical observation. Debbie is being hailed as a hero, but according to her she’s simply a human being who feels God place her in that place to help Marco.
