According to ilovemydogsomuch, Viktor Larkhill and his rescue crew were requested to help a sick dog.

They learned that his mother had been left behind but was actually with him. They started hunting for her, and at a nearby abandoned house they found her snuggled up on an old sofa.

She was unable to move when rescuers arrived because she was so unwell. She had a horrible skin condition that caused her to be scabbed and bleeding, and her fur was completely gone. She had given up because she was literally about to di.e. Knowing that her son was secure, she lay down to die. Thankfully, it marked the beginning of a new life for her.

She and her son were taken there by rescuers, and Helen and Oscar were given their names. After receiving particular care and attention for months, Helen and Oscar looked brand new. Their wounds fully recovered, and their fur grew back.

Helen is thoroughly indulged and cherished and was eventually adopted by a loving family. Oscar was adopted as well.
