On a cold evening in Ontario, Canada, someone spotted a shuddering dog on the side of the road. The good Samaritan pulled over to help, and they discovered the canine was snuggled up with some kitties maintaining them warm.

The stray dog stayed out in the snow to protect the 5 orphaned kittens. He or she decided to help by taking them all to the Pet and Wildlife Rescue shelter for the evening.

And by this point, the dog and kitties had formed an extremely close and unique bond. The caring pooch conserved these kitties’ lives! She has actually become sort of a surrogate mom and insists on checking in on their progress all of the time.

Nobody knows where the dog or kittens originated from or if they recognized each other before finding themselves alone in the world.
