When Tony the puppy located himself in a sanctuary all alone, his life wasn’t looking appealing. The poor dog needed medical attention but also required somebody to give him a chance at life.
Thankfully, assistance came at simply the correct time when a woman with a rescue walked in and noticed the dog.
In an meeting with The Dodo, Nicole with Pips Rescue explained that she saw Tony in the shelter and knew she had to welcome him right into her rescue.
You see, Pips Rescue specifically focuses on saving dogs with special needs and medical cases around North Carolina. When Nicole saw Tony at the sanctuary, she instantly realized his leg was injured and it was so bad, he could require it amputated.
In a regular shelter setup, dogs like Tony usually end up euthanized. Fortunately, Nicole instantly got Tony out of the kennel and into a veterinarian to have his leg evaluated.
Fortunately, the veterinarian chose his leg can likely be conserved with surgery, and Tony was all set to go in.
Nicole showed The Dodo that it was throughout his surgical treatment that Tony met someone very special: a veterinary staff member called Stephanie.
Stephanie felt a unique connection with Tony and wanted to welcome him in as a foster dog, which Nicole was greater than thrilled about. As Tony recovered with Stephanie, however, she realized that she never wanted to let him go.
It wasn’t long before Tony came to be a foster fail and was officially a part of Stephanie’s family. Possibly one of the most exciting component was getting to see him stretch his legs and fully run off-leash for the first time because surgical treatment. It happened on his adoption day, and for the first time, Tony reached experience some full-blown zoomies!
