A few years ago, a Belgian firefighter adopted a kitten he had rescued. He hoped that his entire household, including the dogs, would accept the tiny animal.
Luckily, everything worked out. Not only did he take the kitten in, but the dogs also welcomed him as a family member.
The cat, named Azmael, quickly became an integral part of the group. Though they are still somewhat cautious when playing together, Azmael has become quite close to his siblings, even taking them for walks.

Nathalie, the firefighter’s wife, recently shared a picture of the group on the “Aww” subreddit. The photo shows all three pets lounging on the roadside, enjoying the outdoors. As of this writing, the photo has received an impressive 77,000 likes, indicating just how much people adore this charming group.
According to Nathalie, the pets in the picture are Nimue, an Altdeutscher Schäferhund; Azmael, the cat; and Liam, a White Swiss Shepherd.

Nathalie’s husband had found Azmael in the middle of the road in a pool of blood. The cat was still alive but severely injured.
They took him to the vet, where he stayed for a few days while they tried to locate his family. Despite his dire condition, Azmael pulled through, and his human family brought him home.

The family also has two other cats, making it a household of five pets. Taking care of five animals requires significant effort. Nathalie explained that she was initially worried about raising the youngest cat, but her Altdeutscher Schäferhund was an incredible help.
The dog cared for the kitten daily, playing gently and grooming him. If the dogs hadn’t gotten along, the situation might have been very different.

The harmonious dynamics among the animals are evident during their pack hikes. Nathalie shares that they walk with Azmael almost every morning, joking that it’s like having three dogs.
However, since Azmael isn’t yet road-smart, they must keep a close eye on him and bring him to safety if a vehicle approaches. Even when other dogs bother them, Azmael fearlessly chases them away.

I’d love to have two dogs just like this.
