I was tempted to start this piece with the phrase, “Life writes…” However, it’s not life that pens our narratives, but rather we and those who surround us.

Regrettably, while humans can author and simultaneously star in these tales, the choice to remain part of the story or to exit it is not one that little beings like Alberto have.

It’s disheartening that some can harm or forsake an innocent creature. Yet, on the flip side, it’s deeply heartening to know there are individuals who’d go to great lengths to rescue such a creature, like the heartwarming dog in our tale today.

The sight of a pup discarded in a box, betrayed by those he once trusted, tugs at the heartstrings of every compassionate soul.

Alberto, a brave little dog, weathered the trials of life, having been confined in a desolate box, with a parasitic worm afflicting his eye.

This affliction might have been the reason for his abandonment. But fate had another story.

Enter the benevolent team from Paticasporayudar, and the compassionate woman from the Paws

Show, who discovered Alberto and promptly attended to him.

They lay eggs that cause infection in the eye. A timely intervention by a veterinarian saved Alberto’s sight.

Today, meeting Alberto, you’d be hard-pressed to guess the adversities he’s surmounted. His infectious zest for life and boundless spirit are testimony to his remarkable journey.

His days are now filled with frolic and cuddles, in the company of his rescuers and furry companions. He’s possibly found his forever human, as evinced by the words of his savior, “Alberto’s healing journey progresses steadily, and with each day, he blossoms. My sweet, tender, cherished boy.”
