Angel was seen rescuing a stray dog on his way to school.

On a wet and gloomy day, Mayan Rodrigues saw something beautiful happen outside the window of her apartment in Brazil.

From a distance on the street below, Ms. Rodrigues saw a young girl parked on a rainy sidewalk on her way home from school. She put down her umbrella, removed her backpack, then her coat.Then Rodriguez noticed a stray puppy soaked at the girl’s feet – and realized it was all for her.Here’s what happened next:

Rodriguez watched the girl hold the dog and continue on her way. To her, she is like an angel.

“It all happened so fast. It was very emotional,” Rodriguez told Dodo. “I sent the video to a friend and he shared it with a community group and I found out who this angel was.”

Her name is Cicely Stiegelmair. She is 12 years old. She saved a life that day.

Rejane Stiegelmair, Cibely’s mom, told The Dodo, “I was horrified when she arrived with the puppy because she was sweaty and soaked from the rain. “There was blood on her shirt. I thought she was injured, but she told me she found the injured puppy.”

Fortunately, the puppy didn’t suffer too much damage. There’s nothing that a little love and care can’t heal.

Seeing the puppy alone, Sibley knew she had to take care of it herself.

“Cicely has a very good heart. She feels very sorry for the stray dogs,” Rejane says. “If she could bring them all home, she would.”

The dog, named Pretinha by Cibely, welcomes the home with open arms.

No one knows exactly how Pretinha got stuck on the sidewalk that day, but one thing is certain: thanks to Cibely, her future has never been brighter.

“As parents, we are proud of Cibely and always have been,” said her mom. “But now we are even more so!”
