You might expect a meteor to fall from the sky, but what about a puppy? It sounds unbelievable, but that’s what happened with a puppy named Wandi.
Wandi mysteriously fell from the sky and was discovered in a backyard in Wandiligong, Australia. The family who owned the backyard found him after hearing a whimpering sound.

This fluffy little creature turned out to be a very rare Australian alpine dingo. Noticing his foxlike features, the family took him to the Alpine Animal Hospital for a DNA test.
Dr. Rebekah Day, the veterinarian who examined Wandi, noticed marks on his back. The marks seemed to be from eagle claws, suggesting he was dropped from the sky.

Fortunately, the Australian Dingo Foundation heard about Wandi and requested he be transferred to their sanctuary. The Foundation is a non-profit focused on conserving wild canids.

Discovering Wandi as an alpine dingo was a significant find for them. Australia is home to desert, alpine, and tropical dingos, but alpine dingos are facing extinction.

Wandi has grown a lot since arriving at the sanctuary as a pup. The Foundation hopes to provide a safe home for Wandi and include him in their breeding program.
